Indian e-Medical Visa Basic Requirements
For you to get the visa, you need to present all the mentioned documents in their right format.
- A Passport-sized Photograph of you – This photo needs to be colored and taken a white background using a digital camera for clarity and contrast. It should not be more than six months old and your face should be clearly visible.
- A valid passport – This passport should be at least six months from the day you expect to arrive in India. Further, it is important that there are two blank pages on the passport. One of the pages will be used to stamp your e-Medical visa upon arrival at the airport in India.
The medical facility where you are planning to get treatment must be reputable and an institution recognized by the Indian government. To validate your e-Medical visa, you will need relevant documents and letters from concerned doctors or hospitals in your country. For example, a referral letter.
What is the Validity of Indian e-Medical Visa?
From the time you arrive in India, your medical e-visa is valid for 60 days and you are allowed only three entries. This e-Medical visa is not extendable and once the valid time expires, and you need further treatment, you will need to apply afresh. Extending your stay beyond the visa validity will result in financial penalties. Moreover, the medical electronic visa is not transferable. That means the name of the person on the visa is the one who will receive treatment.
Indian e-Medical Visa Payments
After correctly filling the Indian Visa application form, you will be required to make the payments. The fees you pay are categorized into two: the government fees and the visa processing fees. None of these is refundable even if your visa is rejected. Thus, you need to avoid any mistake such as inputting the name that is not exactly the same way on the passport. The particular charges will be specified and you can use your debit/credit card or even your PayPal account to make the payments – whichever suits you best.
How to Know if the Application was Successful?
This is an online process and you will receive a notification of approval or rejection using the email address you provided while filling the form. As such, you will need to ensure the email is valid and it is your responsibility to check your email and know when the travel authorization approval letter is sent. Upon receipt of this approval, print it out and carry it along with your passport to the airport. It will take the place of the e-Medical visa before the immigration officer stamps your visa on the passport when you arrive in India.
